Seth Godin talks about artists giving back. But it is not the kind of “giving” that most do. He talks about giving without expecting and artists do it very well. In the old days, before you can give something, you must sign a contract, make sure that everything is in writing before you can start giving your skills, your actions, your words, your ideas, your products, etc. Giving, in the old days means keeping it in. Giving, in that sense is truly not giving.
These days, people give more. People give better. People give anything that they think can to help the community. They have ideas, they share. They have time, they use it. They have thoughts, they write. They have some change, they donate.
Giving feels good. Giving makes me feel good.
That is why I give my thoughts freely. I share with you my simple ideas. I use my time well to share my ideas. I write my thoughts – and if I have some change, then I donate some.
I do these because like you, I want to give. Because I think I can make a difference in a small way – without being judged; without being confined to anything or anyone.
Because giving is good – and I like feeling good.
