Thoughts about Good Life

When someone I love passes away, I am once again reminded that life is meant to be celebrated. It is a great reminder to stop, pause, be still and reflect on how I choose to live and what kind of life I choose to live. I question myself every so often with these questions - but here they are again right back in my face:
Am I doing what truly matters?
Am I living a good life?
Am I spending my time with people who truly matter to me?
Am I always pursuing what makes me happy?
It is at this point where I ask myself, how do I define a good life in terms of the following measures:
Financial – What makes life meaningful with the use of money? How much money do I need in order to essentially to live a good life?
Relaxation – Do I have enough time to relax my body and enjoy everything around me? Do I give myself the permission to relax and allow myself to be still? Am I seeing the world in a new perspective as often as I want to? Are there opportunities that allow me to take some time and relax?
Connection – Am I with the people I love the most? Are my daily interactions with people making me happy? Am I doing everything I could to be a kind connector and a good human being? Am I nice enough? Is the environment I am in allowing me to connect to my highest self and allowing me to express it kindly to the people that are around me?
Satisfaction – Am I generally happy? Am I satisfied in all areas of my life?Am I doing something different in the areas that I think I am not?
It is fascinating to hear how different people define ‘good life’ and how little I know about it.
These questions allow me to hear my own thoughts and at the same time explore how else can I be better with the overall thinking of 'being good' and living a 'good life'.
This is why as I continue sharing with you good stories of changemakers - please allow me to explore what it is to have a good life? How is it like to have a good life? How may these stories become vehicles to defining a good life? How can these stories help me (and you) live such a good life?
Yes - a good life.
A GOOD LIFE.
Not a great life – but just simply good. Because I think if you are truly, truly satisfied with a level of your being, of having a good life – greatness simply is the natural outcome of good. Because all greatness (of impact, or meaning, of purpose, of legacy) comes from small goodness. Besides, in the end when we all leave our marks on earth, don't we wish to have a good life?
So here are my thoughts of having a good life:
Just be good.
Living good.
Staying good.
By....
Eating good (food).
Breathing good (fresh air).
Talking good (things, not being mean).
Sleeping good (like a log).
Waking up good (like feeling refreshed).
Working good (loving what you do or finding meaningful in what you do).
Connecting good (to good people).
Earning good (meaning having a good job or a good company).
Walking good (healthy).
Please add more to it....
